Annapurna Circuit Trek

Annapurna circuit trek is a long-distance trek. It is the most popular, highly praised trek of Nepal. It is one of the treks which attracts a large number of tourists from all over the world. This trek might take 17 to 21 days long. It begins starts from Besishahar or Bulbule and leads to its highest point at Thorung la Pass, which has an altitude of 5416m, touching the edge of the Tibetan plateau. The total length of the trek may vary from 160km to 230km. This trek crosses two river valleys. It encircles the Annapurna Massif and passes through paddy fields, subtropical forest, several waterfalls, snowcapped mountains, and gigantic cliffs. The villages passing through the trails are traditional and full of cultures of Gurung and Magars. We can have close up views of Annapurna Massifs, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre (fishtail), Manaslu, Gangapurna, Tilicho peak, Pisang peak, Lamjung Himal, Chulu east, Chulu west, Nilgiris, Tukuche peak and Barasikhar. These peaks viewed in this trek are 6000-8000m in elevation rise from the Annapurna range. Not only the mountain ranges, but this trek also leads us to the world’s deepest gorge .i.e. Kali Gandaki Gorge. Annapurna circuit trek is one of the best long-distance treks in Nepal.

Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu, Transfer to the hotel (1300 m)
Day 2: Kathmandu site seeing and trekking preparation
Day 3: Drive From Kathmandu to Beshisahar & Chamje by jeep (820 m, 6-7 hours)
Day 4: Trek From Chamje to Bagarchhap (2160 m, 5-6 hours)
Day 5: Trek from Bagar Chhap to Chame (2710 m, 5-6 hours)
Day 6: Trek From Chame to Pisang (3250 m, 5-6 hours)
Day 7: Trek from Pisang To Manang (3540 m, 4-5 hours)
Day 8: Acclimatization day
Day 9: Trek From Manang to Yak Kharka (4050 m, 3-4 hours)
Day 10: Trek from Yak Kharka to Thorang Phedi (4450 m, 4-5 hours)
Day 11: Trek from Thorang Phedi to Muktinath (3800 m, 8-9 hours) via Thorang La Pass (5416 Meters)
Day 12: Trek from Muktinath to Jomsom (2743 m, 6-7 hours)
Day 13: Flight from Jomsom to Pokhara (800 m, 20 min by flight)
Day 14: Drive from Pokhara To Kathmandu (1300 m, 6-7 hours by bus)

Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu, Transfer to the hotel.[1300 Meters]

After your arrival in Kathmandu, at Tribhuvan International Airport, a representative from Finding Nepal Treks will pick up and welcomes you to a beautiful Himalayan country Nepal. You will be transferred to the hotel in an Air-conditioned Tourist vehicle. After completing all the check-in process, you will be briefed about your trip, and your documents are collected for all the required permits. Overnight stay in the hotel.

Day 2: Kathmandu sight seeing and trekking preparation

You’ll visit three world heritage sites of Kathmandu valley. Pasupatinath is the holy temple of hindu, whereas Bouddhanath and Swoyambhu are pilgrimages sites for Buddhists.

Day 3: Drive From Kathmandu to Chamje.[1385 Meters]

It’s your day two, and we will head towards the beautiful tourist city Chamje via Beshi Sahar by tourist vehicle, and it takes around 8/9 hours to complete the journey. During the ride, you will encounter beautiful landscapes, paddy fields, famous Trisuli River. After reaching Chamje and checking in in the hotel. We will prepare for the required trekking gears and have a beautiful evening at Chamje. Overnight Stay at the hotel.

Day 4: Trek From Chamje to Bagarchhap [2160 Meters]

It’s your day four; after having our breakfast at the tea house, We’re still following the bank of Marsyangdi river as a new day begins, climbing steadily towards Tal, the first village of the Manang district. Beyond that, our path crosses a wide, flat valley, and then zip-zags up and down towards beautiful village Dharapani. We’ll know we have arrived when we see Tibetan-influenced architecture. The views give way to many flat-roofed homes, set against orchards of apple trees and fields of waving maize. Overnight stay at the tea house. 

Day 5: Trek from Bagar Chhap to Chame [2710 Meters]

It’s your day five; after having breakfast at the tea house, we start the journey and pass through Tyanja and the through the forest straight to Marshyangdi River on the way to Khobar. Chame headquarter of Manang District is our destination for today. Chame is the home of Gurung and Tibetian community people in Nepal. Chame offers us beautiful views of the Annapurna II, and also has natural hot water springs. Overnight Stay at Tea House.

Day 6: Trek From Chame to Pisang [3250 Meters]

It’s your day fifth; after having breakfast at the tea house, we will start our journey and pass through the forest, across the valley, over a bank of the Marshyangdi River and crossing suspension bridges. On the way, we will be offered beautiful views of Paungda Danda rock face which is also known as path to heaven by locals. You will stay at upper Pisang for the night.

Day 7: Trek from Pisang To Manang. [3540 Meters]

It’s your day sixth; After having breakfast at the hotel, we will start our journey to Gharu monastary and move through the higher and dryer part of Manang. Farmers here grow crops and breed yaks. People of Manang have special trading facilities in Nepal. We move forward, and path resumes at the bank of the Marshyandgi river and move forward to Nawal before reaching to Mungji village. It offers beautiful views that lead us to Manang. Overnight stay at the Tea house.

Day 8: Manang: Acclimatization Day

Today is Acclimatization day at Manang. We will take proper rest and hike for 2 hours after taking our breakfast. You have option to choose between Ice lake or Gangapurna lake or Rs.100 Monastary. Overnight stay at the Tea house.

Day 9: Trek From Manang to Yak Kharka. [4050 Meters]

It’s your day eight; After having breakfast at the tea house, we move forward to Yak Kharka. The path climbs uphill and gains an altitude of 500 meters from Manang. Upper Manang is half hour walk from Manang. After walking for 3/4 hours, we will reach Yak Kharka at an altitude of 4050 meters. Yak Kharka is the place where people breed lots of yaks, so this place is named after Yak. Overnight stay at the Tea house.

Day 10: Trek from Yak Kharka to Thorang Phedi [4450 Meters]

It’s your day nine; After having breakfast at the tea house, we move forward to Thorang Phedi. Our trails start climbing uphill and downhill to cross the river. After crossing the river, the path goes uphill until we reach Thorang Phedi. Between Yak Kharka and Thorang Phedi you will pass through Chuli Leather. Today we will walk for 3/4 hours. Thorang Phedi offers new guest house services, and we will enjoy its service. Overnight stay at Guesthouse, and today we will sleep early because we need to wake up early in the morning tomorrow.

Day 11: Trek from Thorang Phedi to Muktinath [3800 Meters] via Thorang La Pass [5416 Meters]

It’s our day tenth; Today, we will start our trek at 4 AM in the morning to reach Thorang La Pass via Thorang La High Camp, before 10 AM in the morning. At the elevation of 5,416 Meters high things can turn bad very fast. After spending some time, we head towards today’s destination Muktinath. It is the holy temple of Lord Shiva. Overnight Stay at the hotel.

Day 12: Trek from Muktinath to Jomsom [2743 Meters]

It’s our day, Eleven; After having breakfast at the hotel, we head towards today’s destination, Jomsom. We head downhill to Jharkot and then to Kagbeni where we’ll have our lunch. Then we decend to Jomsom. Overnight stay in Hotel.

Day 13: Flight from Jomsom to Pokhara [800 Meters]

It’s our Twelveth day. You’ll take a day off and relax your tired body and soul. You can dive in the Phewa lake or take a paraglyding trip from Sarangkot on your own expenses.

Day 14: Drive from Pokhara To Kathmandu [1300 Meters]

Today is the last day of the trip, and we will head back to Kathmandu in a tourist coach. The drive normally takes 6/7 hours. Overnight Stay at Hotel.

Day 15: Final Departure

You will be dropped to International Airport according to your flight schedule in a tourist vehicle
